Francis J. Townsend, 86, Marion, died on Thursday in Marion General Hospital. Mr. Townsend was born in Summitville and was a longtime resident of Marion. He married Marguerite Alice Kaylor on May 5, 1933. She died Nov. 23, 1977.
He retired in 1967 from Anaconda Wire and Cable Co., as a machine operator, after 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Warren.
Survivors include a son, William J. (Becky), Marion; a daughter, Janet (Mrs. William) Turner, LaFontaine; a brother, Don, Moultrie, Ga.; a sister, Marjorie (Mrs. Max) Barley, Marion, seven grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday in Raven Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, with Rev. Thomas Mansbarger officiating. Burial was made in Grant Memorial Park cemetery, Marion.
