Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Herbert Keating will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Kreie was born May 5, 1892, in the Town of Newton, son of the late John and Louise Schmitz Kreie. He was educated in Manitowoc schools and was a life resident of the city. Nov. 20, 1909, he married Elizabeth W. Mahnke. She preceded him in death June 18, 1925. He married Linda M. Waak Bruns Oct. 30, 1926, in First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death Sept. 28, 1973. Mr. Kreie had been employed with Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for about 35 years, retiring in 1956. He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mishicot.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Norman Kreie and Carl and Gladys Kreie and a step-son and step daughter-in-law, Milton and Sally Bruns of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Clarbell (sic) Sorenson of Phoenix, Ariz., and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Myrtle Kreie of Bellville, Mich.; a brother, Robert Kreie of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Emma Metzger of Manitowoc, 21 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A son, the Rev. Orville Kreie and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Marion Stanzel, preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until the time of service.
