Carl C. Kreie, 58, of 3807 Rock St., Mantowoc, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Larry Ellenberger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Kreie was born April 21, 1925, at Manitowoc, son of the late Herman E. and Elizabeth Mahnke Kreie. He grew up and was educated in local schools and was a 1943 graduate of Lincoln High School. He married Gladys L. Hamernik on Sept. 27, 1946, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Kreie was employed at Wisconsin Fuel and Light Co. since 1955. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl T. and Shirley Kreie of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila A. and James L. Ewald of Manitowoc; a brother, Norman Kreie of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Clarabelle Eden of Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Kristy Kreie and Emily and John Ewald; niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Orville Kreie.

Friends may call at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from noon to the time of services on Friday. Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements.
