Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2000, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 9th & Pine St., Manitowoc, Rev. Dennis Broehm will officiate, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Gladys was born October 13, 1927, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Adolph and Clara Schlager Hamernik. She grew up and was educated in Manitowoc. She married Carl. C. Kreie, September 27, 1946, at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Carl preceded Gladys in death, January 25, 1984, after 37 years of marriage. Gladys was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. Gladys enjoyed her family, playing cards with family and friends and cooking.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Carl T. and Shirley Kreie; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila A. and James L. Ewald, all of Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Kristy Kreie, Emily Jandrey and John Ewald; a great granddaughter, Faith LeeAnn Jandrey; two sisters, Florine Bielowski, Delores Linn, both of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carl C. Kreie, she is preceded in death by a sister, Irene Maedke.
Relatives and friends may call at Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday (TONIGHT) and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The Kreie family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center for their caring & compassion and also family and friends for all their cards, flowers, and support during Glady's brief illness.
