Stella M. Zellers, 81, of South Oak Towers, Ottumwa, Iowa; a resident of Ottumwa for the past 59 years; died Thursday, November 22, 1979, at Ottumwa Hospital.
She was born January 4, 1898, at Monroe County, Iowa; the daughter of Charles H. and Viola Mosley Hammond.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and the Social Order of Beauceant.
On September 20, 1917, she was married to Keith Zellers in Appanoose County, Iowa, and he preceded her in death, December 28, 1972.
Surviving are: three daughters, Elizabeth Christy and Donna Jean Bowles, both of Ottumwa, Marcia Heninger of Rt. #2 Hedrick, Iowa; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Hammond of Ottumwa; three sisters, Martha Norton of Bloomfield, Iowa, Edna Moore of Russell, Iowa, Exie Fenton of Plano, Iowa.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son and by four brothers and two sisters.
Services at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 1979, at the Bible Baptist Church, Ottumwa, Iowa. Rev. Kenneth Plunk, Bible Baptist Church, and Rev. Ralph De Vore, Faith Baptist Church, Ottumwa, Iowa, officiating. Pallbearers: Max Hammond, Lawrence Hammond, Dwight Fenton, Paul Moore, Bernard Moore and Ralph Norton. Internment in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa. Service by Johnson Funeral Chapel.
