From the Winona Republican-Herald dated Tuesday, August 15, 1922:

Brother of Winona Man is Heat Victim at Red Wing; Survived by Wife

Excessive heat is believed to have caused the death of Arthur William Hamann, 40 years old, of Red Wing, who died at 10 a.m. yesterday shortly after he had been taken home from his work at the Stoneware's company plant at that city.

Mr. Hamann is a brother of Charles J. Hamann, Jr., 418 East Fifth Street, here in Winona.

Mr. Hamann appeared at work as usual yesterday but was taken home about 9 a.m. when he was suddenly taken ill.

He died before a doctor could reach him at home.

The body will be brought to Winona for burial in Woodlawn Cemetery and services will probably be held at 2:30 p.m. from the home of his brother.

Rev. George S. Keller will be in charge.
