Only daughter of former Sheriff George Hill and Mary E Story and was born in Fosterdale where she lived all her live with the exception when her father was sheriff.
In 1892 she married John Abplanalp who became a Railroad detective for the Erie. He died in 1913.
Six children born to them - three survive - Egbert of Binghamton, Lawerence of Middletown and Amy wife of Preston E Thiess who lived next door to her mother; 4 grand children, 2 great grandchildren.
Her grandfather, John Story, gave the land for the church and cemetery at Fosterdale.
