STANGELVILLE: HENRY KONOP, Sr. 83, for nearly 80 years a resident of this community, passed away at the home a daughter, Mrs. BESSIE MAZANET, Friday morning. Born in 1854, a native of Bohemia, he came to this country with his parents, when a lad of seven. The family located at Stangelville where the deceased has resided since. For many years he operated the Konop hotel at Stangelville which 35 years ago was sold to his son, JOSEPH F. Until 15 years ago he operated a farm in this community.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:30 from St. Lawrence church and interment was made in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Vondracek officiated at the requiem mass, assisted by the Rev. J. G. Vorlicek, Pilsen, and Rev. F. J. Syateck, Norman.
Deceased is survived by three sons: JOSPEH F. Stangelville, THOMAS, Dean of the law school at University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind., and HENRY, JR., Stangelville; five daughters, MRS. BESSIE, MAZANET, Stangelville, MRS. JOHN RERICHA, Chicago, MRS. JOSEPH PEOT, Luxemburg, MRS. FRANK KUGEL, Reedsville and MRS. JAKE SCHLEIS, Kewaunee; one sister, SISTER MARY CECELIA at Silver Lake convent; two brother, MATH. SR., and WENZEL SR., Stangelville. 40 granchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
