Doris L Craig was born May 13th, 1918 and passed from this life on April 4, 2011. She was born in Denver Colorado. She attended Colorado Woman's College, later graduating from Chadron State Teachers College in Chadron, Nebraska with a bachelor of science degree in education.
She married Wayne C. Craig October 15th of 1939. After leaving the Navy in 1945, the couple made their home in Dix Nebraska. Doris taught elementary school in Dix, Potter and Kimball retiring from the Dix schools in 1983. She taught over 1,000 students in 40 years. She was also a master gardener. She and Wayne were charter members of the Sidney Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years and a sister, Marion. She is survived by daughter Connie Willoughby and her husband Neil, son Rick and wife Peggy Nelson, four grandchildren: Michael Willoughby and wife Kristal Koehn, Kevin Willoughby, Tami Reichwaldt and husband Tony, Shelby Bauers, and eight great grandchildren.
After the death of Wayne she moved to Las Vegas Nevada were she lived 15 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Henderson Nevada where a memorial will be held May 14, 2011. Grave side service will be held late summer at the Dix cemetery.
