Mr. Wesley L. Porrett Fort Gratiot Mr. Wesley L. Porrett, 78, died Friday, August 26, 2011. He was born October 16, 1932 in Detroit to the late Neil and Violet Porrett. He married Norma Jean Lentz on September 23, 1966 in Las Vegas. Wesley graduated from Marysville High School in 1950 and then served in the United States Army. He graduated from Eastern Michigan College of Commerce and received his accounting degree. He worked for the IRS for twelve years and was a self employed accountant retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Black River Country Club and enjoyed all sports especially golfing. He loved to travel and planned and went on more than 50 cruises and enjoyed their winter home in Ft. Myers, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Norma, of 45 years; his brother, Donald (Doris Thomas) Porrett; four sisters in law, Genevieve (Willard) Morley, Sharon (David) Maynard, Diane (Tom) Basler and Karen Lentz; and several nieces and nephews; and many good friends. Wesley is preceded in death by a brother and sister in law, Jack (Edith) Porrett; brother in law, Kyle Lentz; sister in law, Connie Kelly-O'Connor; and his father and mother in law, Everett and Myrtle Lentz. Visiting hours will be Monday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in Smith Family Funeral Home-North. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
