John Richard Acors, 62, of Parkersburg passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 7, 2009, in the emergency department of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late John Paul and Mary Lou Burdette Acors.
John was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and retired from Eramet with 30 years of service. He had served in the United States Marine Corps and enjoyed woodworking and the outdoors.
Surviving is his wife, Roxie Lowers Hutson Acors; two sons, Chester Richard Acors in Florida and Brian Scott Hornbeck of Parkersburg; two daughters, Debra Sue Acors in Florida and Becky Crites of Belpre; seven stepchildren; several grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; one brother, William Michael Acors of Parkersburg; two sisters, Mary Ann Acors Hornbeck of Parkersburg and Susan Reed of Reedsville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. Steven Reed officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Parkersburg. The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
