USMC GySgt. Harrington was a World War II, Korean War and a Vietnam Veteran. He saw shore duty at MCB Camp Lejune,NC; Headquarters Quantico, VA; Headquarters Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA; Headquarters, 8th MCRRD, New Orleans, LA; and MB USNTC, Great Lakes, IL.
He was awarded the USMC Good Conduct medal with six award bars/stars, National Defense Service medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal, American Theater Campaign medal, Navy Occupation medal with Asia bar, World War II Victory medal, Korean Service medal with four service stars, United Nations Service medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and the President Unit citation with one service star.
