US Congressman. Born in Hardwick, Vermont, he attended Hardwick Academy, became a journeyman printer and was a newspaper reporter in Burlington, Vermont. He graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathy in 1911, began a practice of osteopathy in Philadelphia and was a member of the faculty of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathy. In 1937, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fifth Congress, serving until 1939. After his term in congress, he resumed the practice of osteopathy and was a member of the board of trustees of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathy. He died at age 93 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
