VIRGILIO, ALFONSO A., 97 - of Palermo, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at his home. Born in Binghamton, NY, he was formerly of Vestal, NY and was a resident of Palermo for the last 14 months. Mr. Virgilio was the former owner and operator of Al's Restaurant in Binghamton, NY before his retirement. He was a member of Moose Club in Endicott, NY and The Church of the Resurrection in Marmora. He is survived by his wife of 74 years: Stella C. Virgilio (nee Serowik) of Palermo, NJ; four children: Geraldine Deraco of Gulfport, FL, Dr. Lawrence A. Virgilio and his wife Anita of Marmora, NJ, Valarie Virgilio of Ft. Collins, CO, Linda O'Connor & her husband Craig of Commack, NY, nine grand children, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered Saturday Morning at 11 o'clock from the Church of the Resurrection, 200 W. Tuckahoe Rd, Marmora, where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of Mass. Burial will follow Mass in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo. The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to either Capital Campaign Fund c/o Church of the Resurrection, Marmora, NJ 08223 or Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 North US Highway 9, Swainton, NJ 08210.
