Born Morgan Co, KY s/o James Elbert Templeton & Julie Queen Franklin. Moved to ancestral home c1898 on Copper Creek, Scott Co, VA. 1904 enlisted in 44th Coastal Artillery, stationed @ Ft. Washington, Prince Georges Co, MD. After discharge remained in D.C. area & married 1st wife, Pearl Bates in 1907; had one child, Orban Kenny Templeton in 1914. After Pearl's death c1921, he married Emma Alley Pendletom 10/17/1923 & had 2 boys, Wm Pendleton & Jack Richard Templeton. Retired from B&O RR 1948 & returned to Scott Co, VA.
