Charles W. Brooks, 85, of 345 Pinoak Drive, Franklin, died at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home.
Born July 20, 1915, in Warren, he was a son of Harry W. and Catherine A. HIBNER Brooks.
He was a 1934 graduate of Warren High School.
Mr. Brooks was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.
He was employed for 25 years as controller of the Franklin Hospital.
Mr. Brooks was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Franklin. He was a life member of the Franklin Elks Lodge.
Mr. Brooks was a volunteer and past president of the United Cerebral Palsy of Crawford, Venango and Clarion County.
He enjoyed golfing and boating and fishing on Lake Erie.
Mr. Brooks was married Aug. 12, 1942, to the former Dorothy DARR, who died May 11, 1975.
Surviving are three daughters, Diane "Dee" SCOTT and Betsy PERRUCCI of Pittsburgh and Nancy BOWER of Ruffs Dale; and three grandchildren,
Thomas Charles STRASBAUGH, Elizabeth Anne Strasbaugh and Dayna Brook Scott, all of Pittsburgh. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
today in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark McCalla, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church,
Franklin, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
