Elinor C. Jaehnig, age 94, a former Town of Centerville resident, died Friday, February 28, 2014 at SunnyRidge in Sheboygan.

She was born on June 23, 1919, in the Town of Centerville, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Alfred and Lillie (Barthel) Jaehnig. Elinor moved to Sheboygan with her parents at age 5 and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School class of 1937. Elinor was a graduate of the Sheboygan Business College. She was employed as a secretary at Vollrath Company, then a personal secretary to the president of Ladish Malting Co. in Milwaukee until 1977. Elinor moved back to the Town of Centerville to live with her father and was employed with Lube Devises in Manitowoc until her retirement. She enjoyed rug weaving, reading and shopping.

Survivors include one sister-in-law: Jerry Jaehnig; nieces and nephews: Tom (Karen) Voss, Cathy (Craig) Corson, Peggy (Jim) Stoiber, Judy (Bob) Koenig, Michael Hansen, Brian (Cindy) Kraemer, Linda (Harley) Streiber, David (Lori) Hansen, Robert (Judy) Voss, Laura (Ricky) Kress; a nephew-in-law: Jerry Schema; 32 great nieces and nephews and many great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother: Gordon Jaehnig; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Gloria & Herman Haefke, Delores & Willis Voss, Betty & Merlin Hansen, Joyce & Charles Kraemer; a niece: Sandra Schema; and three nephews: Scott Kraemer, James Hansen and John Jaehnig.
