Alma Collier Howe of Seward passed away June 11, 2014, in Seward at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 29 days.

Alma Emma Collier Howe was born April 13, 1918, to Herman and Augusta (Reier) Wagenknecht in Shelton.

Alma was united in marriage to Orie Collier on Dec. 4,1939, in Lincoln. Orie passed away in 1981. Alma then married Dale Howe on Feb. 14,1984, in San Antonio, Texas. Dale passed away in 1989. She spent over 20 years as a caregiver to residents at Sunrise County Manor in Milford.

Alma was a devoted member of Mighty Fortress Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seward. She loved to dance, play cards and bingo, sew and collect angels.

Alma is survived by her sister, Gertie Horner of Seward; and sister in law, Peggy Wagenknecht of Mt. Ayr, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brothers, Walter (Hazel) Wagenknecht and Wilber Wagenknecht; sisters, Elsie (Floyd) Miller and Ruth Villwock; and a niece, Sue Miller.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. on June 18,2014, at Mighty Fortress Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seward with the Rev. Daniel Schroeder officiating.

Inurnment will be at Beaver Crossing Cemetery in Beaver Crossing.

Memorials are in care of Mighty Fortress Evangelical Lutheran Church.
