On March 23, 1918, he married the former Frieda Lutze. the couple farmed in the Town of Centerville until moving to Cleveland in 1948. Mr. Schmidt was employed at the Lakeshore Canning Co. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1968. Mr. Schmidt was a member of Ss. John and Peter Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; his brother,n Otto, of the Town of Centerville, and nieces and nephews.Two sisters also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Henry Koch, pastor, officiating. Birial will be in the Saxon Cemetery in the Town of Centerville. Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel after 4 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday, and at the chirch Saturday from noon until the time of services.
