Mrs. Wheeler was born on April 21, 1928 in Lincoln, Il, the daughter of Russell and Margaret Smith. She married Joe W. Wheeler on April 25, 1952 in Lincoln, Il. He preceded her in death December 4, 1998. She is survived by one son: Joe Warren Wheeler of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren: Brent Joel (Emily) Wheeler of Lubbock, Tx; Lalania Noel (Doug) Zwaga of Lake Geneva, WI; two great grandchildren: Christian Warren Wheeler and Azure Katherine Wheeler both of Lubbock, Tx; and one brother: Robert Eugene (Bonnie) Smith of Monticello, Il. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters: Leela, Dorothy, and Anita Kay and one brother: Allen Wayne Smith.
Mary was a member of First Nazarene Church of Lincoln. Her fifty one years of employment included Stetson's China Factory, Lehn and Fink, and 24 years at Lincoln Developmental Center as a clothing aide. Services will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Rev. Greg Wooten will be conducting the services. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made to the First Nazarene Church of Lincoln.
