Sydney I Hanson, 46, died Tuesday, August 15th, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester where he was confined two weeks following a car accident July 23 which killed his wife and a St. Paul man.

Born in Gary, Minn. May 14 1926, Mr Hanson was the son of Hilda and Ivar Hanson. After attending school here, he served in the Navy from August, 1944 to June of 1946 (aboard the USS Luna). Following his discharge, he attended an airline mechanic school in California.

He married Nannette Gage on Nov. 11, 1949, at Detroit Lakes, Minn. He began his employment with Northwest Airlines as a mechanic and was employed as an inspector at the time of his death.

The couple had also owned and operated the Grandview Mobile Home Court in Red Wing since 1963. He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, the Couple's Club of the Church and had worked with Boy Scout troops.

Surviving are his daughter, Suzen, and two sons, Bruce and Darrel, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs Ivar L Hanson of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Michael Hanson of Portland, and Dennis G. Hanson of Prior Lake, Minn.; five sisters, Mrs. Curtis (Irene) Johnson of Cottage Grove, Mrs. Ralph (Dolores) Stuart of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. Richard Spaits of Kansas City. Kansas, Mrs. Norma Carlson of Trail, MN., and Mrs. Ted (Diane) Wright of Portland, Ore.

His wife died July 23, 1972

Funeral Services were held Friday, August 18th at 2pm at Concordia Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

There will be no reviewal and no visitation. The family prefers memorials. Arrangements are by Bodelson Funeral Home.
