Sylvester F. Adrian - MONTELLO Sylvester F. Adrian, 87, Route I, Montello, died Monday at his home. He was born June 15, 1894, in Freedom, the son of Peter and Alice Pfeiffer Adrian. He married Margaret Carpenter, Sept. 28, 1946, in Fond du Lac. Mr. Adrian was the inventor of the Adrian-Ola, which was the forerunner of the American Juke Box. He and his wife owned and operated Indian Echo's Supper Club for 40 years, and owned Adrian's Museum. Mr. Adrian was fundamental in the founding of the John Muir Park in Montello. He was an honorary member of the Sierra Club; past officer of Wiske-Farrell American Legion Post 351, Montello; past president of Fond du Lac Eagles Club and past commander of the Fond du Lac American Legion Post. He was also a member of the Marquette County and state of Wisconsin Historical Societies, and an honorary member of the Wisconsin Academy of Arts, Letters and Sciences. Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Sylvia Adrian, Madison; and two sisters, Anna Rouse, Stevens Point and Mame Gumz, Fond du Lac. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. John's Catholic Church, Montello,' the Rev. James P. McNamee officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac. Friends may call after 4 p.m., today in Steinhaus Funeral Home, Montello, with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to Montello High School.
