Funeral services for Arch Adrian, long-time musician, orchestra leader, ventriloquist and businessman, will be held 10 a m. Monday at Zacherl Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was 79. The Rev. George J. Gibbons will officiate and burial will be in Shrine of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Adrian will be after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Adrian died Friday, Feb. 15. 1980. at his home, 594 Clark St. He was born on Dec. 4, 1900, at Freedom, a son of Peter and Alice Pheifer Adrian. In 1931 he married Margaret Fohl, who preceded him in death in 1950. He then married Grace O'Connor in 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Adrian and his brother Miles owned and operated Adrian Bros. Cleaners in Fond du Lac for 41 years. Mr. Adrian was the founder of a popular dance band known as Arch Adrian and His Men of Note. He was instrumental in the organization of the "Music Under the Stars" summer concert series in Fond du Lac. Mr. Adrian was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as faithful navigator of Fond du Lac Council 664 from 1964 to 1966. He was also a member of the Elks Club. Mr. Adrian was honored in 1978 for his contributions of music to the community by Musician's Local No. 309. Mr. Adrian was a member of the St. Joseph's Holy Name Society. He was a charter president of the Fond du Lac Barbershoppers and served as musical director of that chorus for five years. He was a member of the Lion's Club and song director for that organization. Surviving are his wife, Grace; one daughter, Mrs. Penny Christenson of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gumz of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Anna Rouse of Stevens Point; one brother. Sylvester of Montello; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be sent to St. Mary's Springs High School.
