Model, Actress. Born to Irish parentage in Brooklyn, she began her career in entertainment as a chorus girl at the Copacabana Club, simultaneously working as a model. While doing the latter, she achieved the titles of Miss Brooklyn, Miss Coney Island and Miss New York Press Photographer, also adorning the cover of Look Magazine in January 1951. This prominence led her to Hollywood, as she marked her motion picture initiation in the film "Girls in the Night" (1953). Aside from her featured role in the 1956 picture "Don't Knock the Rock", Hardy's niche would be the small screen as she appeared in the series "Schlitz Playhouse", "The Count of Monte Cristo", "The Loretta Young Show", "Lassie" and "Perry Mason" among others. In 1958, she married actor Richard Egan (remaining with him until his death in 1987) and retired from the industry during the 1960s to raise their family. She died of complications from colon cancer.
