Julia Ellen "Sis" Farris, age 85, of Berkeley Springs, WV departed this life on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation & Nursing.
Born November 11, 1927 at Sir Johns Run, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Theodore and Viola Katherine Michael Clark.
She was of the Protestant faith. She attended public schools in Morgan County, WV. For more than 25 years, Julia worked as a clerk with the Berkeley Springs Pharmacy and later worked as an Administrative Aide with the Morgan County Commission. She enjoyed embroidering and cooking.
Julia is survived by one grandson, Rodger Leon Farris, Jr. and wife Cari of Cary, NC, one granddaughter, Kristy Farris and her partner Joe Somers, Jr. of Berkeley Springs, one daughter-in-law, Connie Farris of Berkeley Springs, three great granddaughters, Lindsay Somers of Berkeley Springs, Evelyn and Abigail Farris of Cary, NC, two brothers, David T. Clark and wife Jean of Paw Paw, WV, Larry D. Clark and wife Linda of Clearbrooke, VA, three sisters, Marlene R. Souders and husband Buddy and Linda C. Angelletta, all of Hagerstown, MD, Barbara K. Corbett of Berkeley Springs, two sisters-in-law, Eileen Clark and Beverly Clark, both of Berkeley Springs and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hamil Leon Farris, two sons, Rodger Leon Farris, Sr. and Dale Craig Farris, two brothers, Vernon "Bobby Joe" Clark and Richard "Dick" Clark, one nephew, Michael Souders and one brother-in-law, Jim Corbett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV with the Rev. Andrew J. Cooney officiating. Interment will be at Union Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
