Lewis Napoleon Cole was the son of Alphonzo D Cole and Esther Batterson Cole. They married in 1861, and Lewis came along later that year. Alphonzo died of typhoid, he had been drafted for the war, unknown if he served and died in 1864. His Mother, Esther went on to marry several more times always being widowed during these tough years. Lewis married Ella Chamberlin in 1891, they had a son, Harry and then he and his wife divorced. He never married again but lived with his Mother who helped him take care of an adopted daughter until she died and Nellie married. He lived for the last part of his days with his son Harry and died in 1932.
