On March, eleven years ago, F.T. Baker put up four-inch ice on his farm in the White Cloud neighborhood. It was the last ice ever put up on the farm. That year also marked the retirement of Mr. Baker from farm life. On that same day, J. Baker came to the Baker home to get a piano of Mrs. Baker and made the trip from the Earl Neighborhood on a slide, enough snow on the ground to make sleighing fine.
Very little ice is put up now by the people of the White Cloud Neighborhood, many of them buying it during the summer from the McIntire Ice Company in Fulton.
