Bradley Milton Meyer, 81, of Elgin, died Aug. 30 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise from injuries sustained in a farming accident. His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Elgin. A viewing for family and friends will run from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church just prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Elgin Cemetery. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Brad was born July 24, 1930, in Tacoma, Wash., to Thomas and Lillie Marriette (Bissell) Meyer. He had one brother, Thomas. Brad lived most of his youth in Grand Coulee, Wash. At the age of 37, he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On Dec. 27, 1968, he married Valeen Linville in the Idaho Falls Temple where they later had their four children sealed to them for eternity.

Brad and his family moved to Elgin in 1971. He worked for Boise Cascade from 1971 until his retirement in 1992. Brad was a farmer at heart and had a passion for hunting. He was known by his family as the "Great White Hunter."

Those who knew him say he was a hard worker and found great joy in providing hours of service to others.

Brad loved his family and he loved to tease and have fun with his grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends. He loved sharing his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Valeen; their children, Lori Durbin of Boise, Grant and his wife, Liz Meyer, of La Grande and Keirstin Meyer of Logan, Utah; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lillie; mother-in-law, Avis "Mother" Linville; his brother, Tommy; and his son, Little Brad.
