Adeline Marion Abel, age 92, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at her home.

She was born on August 17, 1930, the daughter of William and Florence (Wilke) Otto in Oshkosh, WI. She attended Snell's Grade School and Oshkosh High School, graduating with the class of 1948.

She worked at Mercy Hospital, then New American Bank and played string bass in the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra for six years until her marriage.

Adeline was baptized, confirmed, and married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.

She was united in marriage to Marlin Abel on June 21, 1952. He preceded Adeline in death on March 23, 2016. Adeline then became a farmer's wife, homemaker, mother, and eventually grandmother.
Adeline was the church organist for St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church of Fairburn for 60 years, retiring in May of 2018. She also filled in at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Redgranite for services, funerals, and weddings when needed.

She also was a 4-H leader for knitting and crocheting for 50 years, teaching many young people how to knit and crochet. She also served as a superintendent for the knitting and crocheting department at the Green Lake County Fair for many years. She also entered many items at the fair in knitting, crocheting, home environment, baking, and flowers. She especially loved competing against her granddaughter Melissa at the fair.

Adeline is survived by her son, grandchildren, foster children.; She is further survived by one sister-in-law, three nephews, one niece and goddaughter, and other relatives and many friends.

Besides her husband, Marlin, Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Harold Ottman.

Family and friends may visit with the family and pay their respects to Adeline on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 4-7:00 p.m. at The Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin, and also on Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairburn from 9-11:00 a.m..
A funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Gregory Sluke. Burial will follow the service at the St. Paul Cemetery.

The family would especially like to thank the Green Lake Sheriff's Department and Emergency services for their care and compassion shown to the family.
