I've found Virlie's first name spelled several ways, the spelling of Verlie is on her death record as well as on her marriage record to Ira. I believe it is how she probably spelled her first name but am putting it on here as it is on her marker. Her death and marriage record to Ira have her with the middle initial of I
Verlie was first married to a Clifton Blackwell on Feb. 16, 1904 and had daughters Juanita and Pauline M. Blackwell. They are all on the 1910 Tipton Co. TN census together and Clifton Blackwell dies Jul. 6, 1910, no idea where he's buried yet.
Verlie marries Ira Armstrong on Nov. 11, 1911, wow, that was 11/11/11...They have children Chester R., Lenora E., Eugene Matthew, Robert Leo, James Herman, Dallas Luther, Ruth E. and Thelma, some are buried in this same cemetery.
Verlie's parents were Eugene E. Gookin and Mary (Bettie) Elizabeth Cowell.
