Alice Kling, 84, Minot, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, in a Minot hospital, after a short illness.

Alice Elizabeth Kling was born April 14, 1926, a daughter of Lars and Margaret (Fredrickson) Gaardsmoe, in Raub. She was raised and educated in Minot. She was baptized at a Lutheran Church in Raub and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot.

Alice married George Kling Sept. 8, 1947, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she raised her family. George passed away Sept. 30, 1985.

She was a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minot.

In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, cooking, crocheting and sewing.

Surviving family includes: daughters, Pam (Harry) Fiest, Tolley, and Sandra Smith, Las Vegas; son-in-law, Jack Noguess, Little Lake, Mich.; stepsons, Donald Vardsveen of Zion, Ill., and Michael Vardsveen, Flandreau, S.D.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Haine, Minot, Elva Elashewich, Bossier City, La., and Hilda Seney, Garrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter, Karen Noguess; infant brother, Raymond Gaardsmoe; brother, Elmer Gaardsmoe; half brother, Harold Fredrickson; and half sister, Pauline Fredrickson.

Funeral: Monday, May 24, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
