ALVINA KLESSIG

Mrs. Edwin Klessig, 77, of Kiel, died Tuesday afternoon in Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, following a short illness. She was born Jan. 25, 1894, in Meeme, daughter of the late William and Ernstine Lorfeld Klessig. Following graduation from the Manitowoc Normal School in 1912, she taught school in the area for three years.

She was married to Mr. Klessig, June 20, 1916, at St. John United Church of Christ at Herman. They operated a farm in the Town of Centerville until 1952 when they moved to Kiel. Mrs. Klessig was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel, its Ladies Aid Society, and Centennial Homemakers of Kiel.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Orabelle) Fisher, rural Valders; Mrs. David (Doris) Wright, Marietta, Ga.; Mrs. Floyd (Judith) Dahmer, Kiel and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Oehlberg, Northfield, O.; a son, Edward, rural Cleveland; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Zolltheis, rural Cleveland, Mrs. Edgar Albrecht, Kiel, and Mrs. Walter Ladwig, Sheboygan.

She was preceded in death by four sisters.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Church in Kiel,
the Rev. C. L. Reiter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Saxon Cemetery in Centerville. - 1971

Mrs. Edwin Klessig, 77, of 929 First St., Kiel, died Tuesday afternoon at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel. The Rev. C.L. Reiter will officiate and burial will be in Saxon Cemetery, Town of Centerville.

Mrs. Klessig, nee Alvina Kammann, was born Jan. 25, 1894, in the Town of Meeme, daughter of the late William and Ernstine Lorfeld Kammann. She attended Manitowoc county Normal School graduating in 1912. She taught school for three years prior to her marriage to Edwin Klessig June 20, 1916, at St. John United Church of Christ, Town of Herman.

The couple owned and operated a farm in the Town of Centerville until 1952, moving to Kiel. Mrs. Klessig was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid of the church and the Centennial Homemakers of Kiel.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Edward of rural Cleveland; four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Orabelle) Fisher of rural Valders, Mrs. David (Doris) Wright of Marietta, Ga., Mrs. Floyd (Judith) Dahmer of Kiel and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Oehlberg of Northfield, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Zolltheis of rural Cleveland, Mrs. Edgar Albrecht of Kiel and Mrs. Walter Ladwig of Sheboygan; 25 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, after 4 o'clock this Wednesday afternoon until 11 a.m. Thursday and then at the church from noon until the time of service.
