Fred Otis England was the youngest son of AD England and Winifred Nola Hooper England. He and his brother William Orby England formed a Hillbilly-Country singing group in the 1940's known as the "England Brothers". They cut a few records one of which was with "Davis Unlimited Records. They are well known for their roll in music history. Orby continued to play his guitar and sing for all the members of the Adamsville Senior's Center until a few days before his death.

During the last decade or so of their lives, Englands begun to make concert appearances at bluegrass festivals and old-time fiddling contests.

Orby and Otis, lived in Adamsville, Jefferson County, Alabama, from a hamlet named Midway on Maple Circle. Both spent early years working in the coal mines. Otis became a contractor and built his own home on Maple Circle. Orby became a mine foreman.

They met the Delmores on several occasions and played the famous Renfro Valley Barn Dance, and were regulars on Birmingham radio station "WVOK's Saturday Jamboree" in the 1950's. They appeared on The Country Boy Eddie's TV show out of Birmingham.
