Fairfield-Roberta J Pomerleau,89, of Fairfield died Wednesday Jan 29,2003,at the Maine General Medical Center in Waterville. She was born in Waterville, Sept 13,1913, the daughter of Elmer and Theresa (Salinger) Gurney.
Roberta was a homemaker and raised two daughter. She enjoyed knitting items for her home and family. She especially loved spending time with her daughters, grandson, and her three great grandchildrens. Roberta also loved animals,horses and most especially her cats, Red. Roberta and her husband, Bernard , raced horses at various harness racing tracks thoughout the state of Maine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Pomerleau April 23,1983.
Roberta is servived by her two daughters, Suellen Luce and Judith Pomerleau, grandson,Harry Luce,and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn,Jacob and Jared Luce, all from Fairfield
At her request, there will be no services at this time; burial will take place in spring at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Humane Society Waterville Area, 120 Drummond Ave, Waterville, Maine 04901. Arrangements are under the direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St. Waterville.
