Felix Marenda Dies of Injuries

MANITOWOC -- Manitowoc County recorded its 21st traffic fatality of 1967 when Felix J. Marenda, 77, of 1618 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, of complications due to injures received Dec. 26 in an auto accident near Newton.
Marenda, his wife, and his son, Clarence, and his wife were returning from a holiday visit with relatives at Milwaukee when the crash occurred.

Ruled Fatality
Marenda's death was ruled a fatality Thursday by Dr. Theodore Tietgen, Manitowoc County coroner.
Mr. Marenda was born May 19, 1890, in Poland, son of the late Felix and Magdeline Brezezinski Marenda, and emmigrated to the United States in 1912. He lived 2 years in Milwaukee and then came to Manitowoc and owned and operated a shoe repair service more than 50 years before retirement in 1963. He married Rose J. Nitka May 19, 1919, at St. Mary church. Mr. Marenda belonged to the Holy Name Society.

Funeral Saturday
Survivors include the wife; three sons, Ervin of Janesville, Clarence of Manitowoc, and Atty. Floyd of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Balbina Fendryk, of Milwaukee, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday where at 7 p.m. the Rosary will be recited by the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Council 710.
