Ellen McGlothlin, 83, Paragon, died at 3:31 a.m. Nov. 16, 2007, at Morgan Hospital and Medical Center in Martinsville. Born July 23, 1924, in Jamestown, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Dave and Addie (Sewell) Hinds. She previously worked for High Grade Foods in Indianapolis, Automotive Armature in Mooresville and retired from Harman-Motive in Martinsville in 1990. She enjoyed gardening and going to auctions. Survivors include four daughters, Christene Cooper and Paulene Cooper, both of Paragon, and Louiese Taylor and Arlene Malone, both of Martinsville; a sister, Clariece Ford of Thompkinsville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and a step-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by an infant brother and six sisters. The graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday November 19 at Friendship Park Cemetery in Paragon. The Rev. Steve Adams will officiate. Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville is in charge of arrangements.
