Helena "Lena" Palmer is buried alongside her first husband, Sebastian "Foble" Federer, and four of their 11 children.

Per Lena's niece, Edith Geisler Roggerman, the Geisler family was extremely poor. Lena vastly improved her lifestyle upon marriage to Sebastian, who owned his own farm, 40 acres of farmland, and other properties in the area. After marriage, Lena helped her mother and siblings by supplying them with food. Lena was known to be a forgiving, kind, and loving person, who was also an excellent cook.

Lena was Widowed in December 1911, and married a family friend, Charles Palmer., in 1915.

Lena was first generation German American, and daughter of Friedrick Ernst Geisler, and Sophia Behrns.
