Amy Woodworth was born 2 May 1805 in Cornwallis Township, Kings County, Nova Scotia the twelfth child of William Woodworth Jr. and his wife Marcy / Mercy Pineo. Her birth record can be found in the Cornwallis Township Book

Her father William Woodworth Jr. was born 3 August 1755 in Hebron, Tolland, CT and died 11 May 1839 in Cornwallis Township. Her parents were married 8 June 1778 also in Cornwallis Township. Her mother Marcy Pineo was born 18 January 1763 also in Cornwallis Township and died March 1815 in Horton Township, Kings County, Nova Scotia. Mercy Pineo is the daughter of Peter Pineo and Elizabeth Samson. Through her mother she is descended from Miles Standish, John Alden, Priscilla Mullins and Henry Samson of the Mayflower.
