Gaither Edison Collins Aug. 4, 1921 ~ Sept. 3, 2011 Gaither Edison Collins, 90, passed away Saturday, September 03, 2011. He was born August 4, 1921 in Stokes County to the late Fletcher Ernest and Ro Ada Harris Collins. He was a World War II Veteran in the Air Force. He was a member of King Baptist Mission Church and also retired from Western Electric. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Kiser Collins; brother, Guy Collins; great granddaughter, Desiree Leleux. Surviving are his daughters, Dolores Kay Collins Leleux, Cheryl Lynn Eaton; granddaughters, Melanie Annette (Freddie) Yates, Rachel Marie Carey; great grandchildren, Andre Nichols Leleux, Jessica Marie Brantley; several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by Brother Johnny Bowen and by Brother Robert D. Spainhour. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thanks all the friends and relatives that loved and cared for Gaither. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Collins family.
