J. H. "Jake" Alexander, Jr., 88, of Tifton died Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 5, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Ronnie Lawson will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 4, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Alexander was born on August 13, 1923 in Tift County and was the son of John H. Alexander, Sr. and Lodia Belflower Alexander, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Willie F. Alexander; four brothers; and two sisters. He was a retired farmer and of the Presbyterian faith.


Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Madie Harrell Alexander of Tifton; three sisters, Reba Moncus of Leesburg, Edna Schell of Duluth and Bernice Harrell of Snellville; and 15 nieces and nephews.
