This is our sister, Jane Ann. She was fifth child and second daughter born to John Robert Ward, Sr and Florence Margaret Drake. Jane Ann was born with a hole in her heart. In modern times, that is no problem. In 1936, it was serious. Jane Ann was not expected to live past her tenth birthday. She was a sickly child, and from third grade til eighth grade, she was tutored by the Dayton public school system. By grade nine, she was a freshman at Stivers High School like all teenage girls. She attended Sinclair Business College in Dayton. In 1955, my family moved to Hollywood, Florida and Jane Ann worked various jobs while there. She became best friends with Louise Adamaitis and they did some traveling, cruises, etc and had one heck of a good time doing whatever they did. She then met Clyde Strouse and they were married in June 1969.It was a match made in Heaven! The last years of Jane Ann's life were quality years; new house, fun time furnishing it, driving to California, and cooking liver, onions and mashed potatoes for her brothers. We were all shocked when she was admitted to the hospital and even more dismayed when an undetected abdominal aneurysm burst and took her life.

May you have only pleasant hours to melt your cares away. And the warmth of Irish laughter to bring gladness to each day.
