She was born in Bell, CA 23 Jul 1935 and grew up in the Los Angeles, CA area.
Carole love to write letters and had one special pen pal, Harold Schmeer, who she later met while he was on shore duty. They fell in love and were married for 50 wonderful years. Since Harold was in the Navy, they lived in San Diego, CA, Hawaii, Washington and then finally moved to Ridgecrest in the early 1960s.
Carole worked at China Lake, CA as a contractor with Camarco, then as a Hardware Configuration Manager with civil service, prior to retiring. After retiring, Carole stayed in Ridgecrest and enjoyed time with her family and friends.
Carole is survived by her son David Schmeer and wife Cathy; her daughter Cathy Shadden and husband Ron; five grandchildren Richard and Jodi Shadden; Roxan and Bill Loomis; Bryan Shadden; Keith and Donna Shadden; Kyle Shadden and eight great-grandchildren.
