George Rodney Laymance passed away Monday, November 5, 2001 at home in Bellingham, WA George was 53 years old. He was the son of Benjamin Francis Laymance and Gladys Lucille Pruden. In February 1969 Seaman George R. Laymance was on the destroyer Nicholas, based in Pearl Harbor and stationed in the Pacific as one of the Apollo 9 secondary landing zone recovery ships. As a veteran he was active in a group called Forward in Bellingham that worked with veterans dealing with many issues, including homelessness, alcoholism , drug abuse and many others.
