Died of "a stroke of paralysis"

Veteran of the Civil War

Sometime between the years of 1835 and 1840 his parents, Mary and Samuel, moved from Hampshire County Virginia (at out break of Civil War Virginia became West Virginia) to Portage County Ohio. In 1850 they moved to Licking County, Ohio. In 1855 they moved by covered wagon to Tazewell County, Circleville, Illinois. Circleville no longer exists. It was in the Northeast corner of Sand Prairie Township near South Pekin.


William was the post master and Justice of the Peace in Circleville, IL. Sometime after 1870 he moved to Pekin where he clerked in Joseph Larimore's grocery store.

Siblings: Francis Marion (Cornelia Vale), Andrew Jackson (Caroline Anthony), Mary Armantha (Hiram Hunter)

Children: Maude A Larimore (John Shoop), Rachel Mary Larimore, Carlton "Shorty" Larimore, Ernest "Sticks" Larimore (Johanna Johnson), Ivan Larimore/Samuel Wagler (Anna Mostaka), Irvin Larimore/Manuel Wagler

When Addie died from tuberculosis in 3/1897 William was unable to care for the children by himself. All of the children with the exception of Ernest were placed in other homes. Maude was adopted by Edmund Reeder. The twin boys, Ivan and Irvin were adopted by Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Wagler and renamed Samuel(memorial # 75426717) and Manuel. William and his son Ernest went to live with his sister Mary Amantha Larimore (Hiram Hunter) in Delavan.
