Ruth E. Bloedorn, age 87, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Franciscan Care, Appleton. She was born May 5, 1918, in Liberty to Joel and Mabel (Thorrison) Johnson. On April 23, 1938, she married Raymond A. Bloedorn. Ruth owned and operated Ruth's Beauty Salon for many years; her customers were like family to her. She was a member at First English Lutheran Church, Appleton, and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She donated the majority of her quilts to the church. She was an avid card player and belonged to the Ladies Card Club. Ruth is survived by one son, Gene (Rosemary) Bloedorn, Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren: Kara Ahnemann Swanson, Aaron and Eric Bloedorn; four great-grandchildren: Sophia, Rachel, Clara and Jacob; sisters-in-law, Irma Johnson and Dorothy Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Daryl Rae and brothers, Robert and Kermit Johnson. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2005, at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E. North Street, Appleton, with Pastor Paul Svingen officiating. Friends may call at the church Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Valders, WI.
