Waterville-Robert L Pomerleau,72, of Waterville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 6,2000, at a Waterville hospital.
He was born Oct. 22,1927, in Waterville, son of Charles A Sr. and Alva (Rancourt) Pomerleau, now deceased and attended Waterville High School. In 1944 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the war, and was honorably discharged in 1948.
He married Jacqueline A Parlin July 31, 1950; She past away June 30, 1998.
He was employed as a foreman at the former Keyes Fibre Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1989.
Robert was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Waterville, a member of the Elks Lodge No. 905 in Waterville and the Bourque-Lanigan Post 5, American Legion, in Waterville. He enjoyed bowling, playing cribbage and was an avid sports fan.
He was prececeased by a brother, Charles Jr. and two sisters, Constance a Tardiff anf M Joyce Bolduc.
Survivors include his five children, Marie Dixon, of Milford, Conn. R Bruce Pomerleau, of Auburn, Stephen Pomerleau, and wife, Pauline, of Fairfield, Kevin Pomerleau, of Waterville, Kathy Wallace, and her companion, Dana Shores of Fairfield; his sister M Annette Pomerleau, of Waterville; two aunts, Irma Lightbody, of Waterville and Roberta Pomerleau ,of Larone; his dauther-in-law, Rose Pomerleau, of Skowhegan; 16 grandchildren; a very special friend, Nadine Bolduc of Winslow; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
There will be no visiting hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Notre Dame Church, Silver St. Waterville.
A graveyard service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 12, at St. Francis Cemetery, Grove St. Waterville. Arrangements are by Lawry Brothers Funeral Home in Fairfield.
