SALISBURY - Kenneth Cicero Furr, Sr., 101, of 284 Kerr St. NW, Concord, and 603 Ocean Blvd., Carolina Beach, died December 23, 2008 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury.

Born June 20, 1907 to the late Jonah L. and Daisy Kiser Furr in Cabarrus County, Mr. Furr was employed by Cannon Mills until his retirement in 1986. He was a long time member of McGill Street Baptist Church in Concord and later of First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Furr was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Atwell Furr; son Kenneth C. Furr, Jr.; five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his son Dr. Hal B. Furr and wife Montye of Salisbury; a grandson Bradley A. Furr of Charlotte; a granddaughter Stacey F. Wilson and husband Jeff; and three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Lucy and Ryder of Charlotte. He is also survived by two sisters, Hilda Beaver of China Grove, and Helen Furr of Charlotte.

Service: A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Fri., Dec. 26 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The Rev. Steve Ayers officiated.
