Mildred Pauline Floyd, of New Franklin, passed away Jan. 1 at Ashley Manor in Boonville. She was 88 years old.
Born May 7, 1922, in Mountain Grove, Mo., she was the daughter of Paul and May Peterson Morrison. She married Ralph Milton Floyd on Nov. 15, 1943, in Bolivar, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 7, 1991.
Mrs. Floyd was employed as a laboratory technician in the histology lab at the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine for 23 years. She was a member of the New Franklin United Methodist Church. Her favorite hobbies included baking, cooking and sewing.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Patricia Boggs and husband, Melvin of Boonesboro, Missouri, Don Floyd and wife, Kay of Columbia, Missouri, Dale Floyd and wife, Sue of Brookfield, Missouri; a brother, Kenneth Morrison of Humansville, Missouri; a sister, Norma Pitts of Flemington, Mo.; seventeen grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Malvern Morrison.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at the New Franklin United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Lyons officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
