Mary "Marie" Ahlschier, 89, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, in Houston, Texas. Funeral 9:30 a.m. Friday at Forest Park's Chapel-Westheimer, in Houston. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Clarewood House Chapel, 7400 Clarewood Dr. in Houston.
Mary "Marie" Ahlschier was born on Nov. 6, 1910 in Donie, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Ahlschier. Marie was a Sunday School Teacher for over 45 years, and an active member of West University Baptist Church for many years, before entering the Clarewood House in 1988. She organized the first Ukulele Band and was very active in the Gardening area.
Survivors: Sister, Bess Wigley of Pasadena, TX; son, Dr. Allan Ahlschier, and his wife, Sonia, of Dallas, TX. Daughters, Susan Young of Houston, TX, and Mollie Hildebrand and her husband, Anthony of Bedford, TX. Numerous Nieces and Nephews; Seven Grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren, and many, many special close friends.
