William Edwin "Will" Townsend, 83, of Baytown passed away February 28, 2004, at his home. He was born October 26, 1920, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

William was a retired instrument technician with Exxon and a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church.

While in the U. S. Air Force, he served in the Pacific in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star.

William is survived by his wife, Doris Townsend; sister and brother-in-law Edith and Bob Rosenbeger; daughters and sons-in-law Elaine and Robert Martin, Carolyn and Richard Foster, Pat Crawford, and Susan and Ricki Lunsford; grandchildren, Joel and Ashley Martin, Jessica Martin, Amy Foster, Jenny Martin and Megan Ayres.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, March 1, at Navarre Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Navarre Chapel with Rev. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.

Pallbearers are Robert Martin, Greg Foster, Joel Martin, Richard Foster, Patrick Crawford and Ricki Lunsford.

Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Townsend's Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Cedar Bayou Baptist Church Fund.

Services are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive in Baytown, 282-422-8111.
